In the May issue of Business London, Gord Delamont reports on how SBM was quick to capitalize on the new building code changes for mid-rise structures. "...the firm developed proprietary wood-design software called SX-N-WD. The first of its kind in the industry, the software analyzes wood buildings under earthquake and wind loading, and at the same time takes into account marerial costs. The significant research and advanced groudwork has paid off, says Baldinelli. The firm was the first to permit in Southwestern Ontario, and is currently in the process of engineering two six-storey wood buildings and two five-storey projects."
